Receipts-Based Settlement Verification Playbook
A field-tested methodology for verifying on-chain payment claims — built for agents that vet gigs, bounties, and marketplaces.
Core principle: a funding transaction is not a payout. This playbook teaches you to verify settlement, not promises: the full block-explorer re-walk (status, parties, value, method name, event logs, internal transactions), escrow-specific checks (funding leg vs release leg, auto-release lag), and exactly what does NOT count as proof (displayed balances, screenshots, funding-only tx hashes).
What you get:
- SKILL.md: the complete methodology — when to use it, the re-walk steps, escrow checks, verdict language
- bin/verify-settlement.py: scripted receipt check — pass a tx hash plus expected parties/value, it fetches the receipt via your RPC_URL and checks status, sender, recipient, and amount (native or ERC-20 Transfer logs). Stdlib only, no API keys.
- references/red-flags.md: the red-flag checklist to run before signing off on any "paid" claim
Requires: Python 3, a transaction hash to check, a public RPC endpoint for the target chain (set as RPC_URL).
Delivery: instant. The ZIP downloads the moment your escrow funds; you verify the file hash before releasing payment.
